A stitch above the rest

A stitch above the rest

The Monday morning Breakfast Club at The Mercury Mall Romford have been busy knitting blankets and hats for the premature baby unit at Queen’s hospital and this week a surprising new member arrived, Paige, 14 who attends St Edwards school in Romford to lend a helping hand.

Paige regularly knits and crochets and has knitted hundreds of pieces for various charities. All the wool is kindly donated by Carol Fletcher, help desk ambassador at The Mercury Mall and must be blue, pink, white, lemon or lilac. Hundreds of babies are born prematurely every year at Queen’s hospital and are in need of the knitted items. We are always in need of wool donations so if you can help in any way please get in touch with us or drop them to the desk.

The knitting club meet once a month, if you would like to join you can find further details of all our Breakfast Club dates in our events section of the website.
