Daniels View - Expressions of Trauma
Daniels View - Expressions of Trauma
The Mercury mall are proud to announce our latest exhibition at Daniel's view.
This exhibition has been created in collaboration with Healthwatch Essex’s Trauma Ambassador Group to raise empathy and awareness of trauma and the effects it has on individuals. In this space you will find poetry and digital works covering sensitive themes including bereavement, abuse, chronic pain, and forced adoption, amongst others. Through the power of words and illustrations you will view an experience personal to each artist, which gives a true insight into how people use creative outlets to express themselves during difficult times.
Allie
Watson, Healthwatch Essex Trauma Ambassador, speaks about how important she
finds using creative outlets:
“Art
has been lifesaving on many occasions in helping me cope with my trauma. Art
helps me to express things that I find very difficult to put into words. It is
a fundamental part of my life now to keep myself well, and is something I turn
to in crisis.”
Please
be aware that this exhibition includes art covering sensitive themes including
abuse and bereavement and may therefore be triggering to some individuals. Should
you wish to receive support for any of the issues highlighted in this
exhibition, please contact Healthwatch Essex on 0300 500 1895 or Healthwatch
Havering 01708 303300.
Open to the public until 12th January 2025 on Daniels View on Level 3 of The Mercury.
