Do you have a piggy bank or coin jar; collecting £1 coins?

 

Well you need to know that soon the £1 will no longer be accepted in the shops.  With the new 12-sided £1 coin soon to be in circulation from 28th March 2017, the old £1 coin will soon stop being accepted as payment and this will take place from 15th October 2017.

 

 

Now is the time to empty all your saving places at home of the old £1 coins and either spend them now or take them to the bank to deposit.  

 

Not forgetting the new £5 polymer note is now in circulation but remember from 5th May 2017 the old £5 notes will be withdrawn.  Make sure you start using up your old style £5 notes. Don't get caught out!
