Kim’s Video - Special screening at Lumiere

On Tuesday 29th April, Lumiere has a very special event!

 

A screening of Kim’s Video with a live beamed Q&A with the filmmakers and Mr Kim.

 

Kim’s Video was one of the early leading lights of the video library industry, a place to get unusual and obscure film (sometimes of dubious authenticity) it was a beacon for film lovers who would often spend hours looking at its shelves. But as the dawn of the DVD came the store lost its popularity. Enjoy this gripping documentary about how a video libraries content became a pawn possibly for huge financial gain by a well orchestrated gang.

 

But that’s not all, we’ll have a pop-up video shop where you can come and swap out videos from your collection for others and your videos will travel the world continuing the story.

 

We’ll have other activities and the bar will be open selling a selection of drinks.

 

As a brand new cinema we’ll be treating this as a kind of launch event.

 

So expect the very best of party vibes!
